API – Advanced Passenger Information has been recently launched in the UAE as part of the country’s ambition to spearhead the Aviation industry on passenger information and safety standards. The new API system will now require that aircraft operators with flights operating into the country to hold an account in the API “Carrier Portal” which is linked to the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and managed by SITA Inc. The links to direct your company in every step to register into the portal are posted in this article’s support documents found below.

The purpose of the API or Passenger Name Record (PNR), is to provide the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority with the details of the passengers travelling on board any commercial or private aircraft into the country.  API is now adhered through 30 countries another 32 countries are planning to introduce similar requirement for aircraft flying in. The general information required to be submitted in the API “Carrier Portal”  for Passengers & Crew include the following:

  1. Full Names
  2. Date of Birth
  3. Passport Numbers
  4. Citizenship
  5. Country of Passport Issuance

Important Note: Once you have registered your company, you must send an email to the UAE API Call Center Team – callcenter@apiuae.gov.ae – to activate and to be assigned with the login details.
